Many brides choose to preserve their bridal bouquet as a memento of the wedding.  The odds are very strong indeed that the bouquet after a time , will end up after all in storage  ( which after all often means someplace no one recalls or even remembers).  Keep this in mind if you decide to take your bouquet to your local favorite florist for preservation :  after all the process will probably cost you more than the bouquet initially did itself.  There are , however cheaper and more practical ways , after all ,  to preserve the bouquet itself.  If you do decide to take advantage of them, you can spend the money on something else – for example your honeymoon.

Inexpensive Flowers It is as Smooth as Silk

Well , you thought that you could meet your budget.  But know you know more places where you could after all use the advice and products of a good florist.  Now the issue of your budget , and how much funds that you have allocated portions of your budget to floral arrangements rears its head again.   If you want more than you think prudence allows do not overlook the option of silk.  When done well . silk flower arrangements can be as lovely as the “real thing” – and they even look more than real and realistic.  With silk flowers you can even get a broader choice of colors.  And while it can be said that real flowers  perish and die quickly, leaving you to lament , money spent on something that just do not last long , silk flowers after all can be kept as decorations or keepsakes long after your wedding day and festivities.

If you cannot bear the thought and thoughts of not being able to smell the wedding flowers, but like the advantages of silk , compromise : use live where it is important to you and silk in other areas.  Some brides actually have two bouquet made  up , one real , the other one silk.  The bride can then keep which either one they prefer and use the other one for the infamous ( or famous)  bouquet toss.

The mothers of the marrying couple usually receive special corsages just before the ceremony begins.  However if your ceremony includes any readings concerning the importance of family ( or similar elements), you may well decide to incorporate the act of passing along those flowers as part of the wedding itself.

Now you do won’t forget wedding flowers for the mothers  , but what about grandmothers, great grandmothers , great-grandparents or Godmothers attending the ceremony who are special to you.  You might want to recognize them with a gift of flowers as well.

Flowers for the men are pretty simple.  The ushers wear boutonnieres , usually a carnation or a rose.  Sometimes the boutonniere is dyed to match the bridesmaid’s dresses , some of the time it is simply white in colour.  The groom wears a lapel spray to match the bride’s bouquet , or a traditional boutonniere.  The fathers usually have a boutonnieres similar to those worn by ushers.
